After her remarkable triumph at the Miss Cosmo International 2024 competition, Ketut Permata Juliastrid Sari, better known as Tata, made a heartwarming return to her hometown in Bali. Tata landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Tuban, Badung, on Thursday (28/11) afternoon, where she was greeted with an outpouring of love from her family, hundreds of devoted pageant fans, and members of the Sanur Bersatu community.
Wearing an elegant gown by Inggi Kendran and crowned with her glittering tiara, Tata captivated everyone’s attention as she climbed aboard a vintage red open-back car. Escorted by a convoy of luxury vintage cars and motorbikes, she made her way to the “Welcoming Miss Cosmo 2024” event at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali. The hotel rolled out the red carpet with a grand reception, featuring a Welcome Balinese Dance and the iconic Barong Dance.
Adrien Marie, General Manager of Mövenpick Bali, officially welcomed Tata by presenting her with a garland. Joining him were Risya Wulansari (Hotel Manager), Agung Prawista (Director of Rooms), and Dedy Sulistiyanto (Marketing & Communications Manager). Tata was also accompanied by 1st Runner-Up Miss Cosmo International, Mook Karnruethai, Miss Cosmo International CEO Tran Viet Bao Hoang, and Mega Angkasa, Head of Communications and Public Relations at the Puteri Indonesia Foundation (YPI).
Speaking at the event, Mega Angkasa expressed his gratitude to Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali for their warm hospitality and support. “We sincerely thank Mövenpick for hosting such a memorable welcome celebration. This collaboration truly reflects the spirit of togetherness and highlights Bali’s beauty on an international stage,” he said.
Tata shared that her journey into the world of pageantry started quite unexpectedly. While studying, she dabbled in modeling as a side job and later received an offer to audition for Puteri Indonesia Bali. “By God’s grace, I won the title,” she said, reminiscing. Her success in Puteri Indonesia Bali paved the way for her to represent Bali in the Puteri Indonesia and won the Puteri Indonesia Tourism 2024 title, which eventually propelling her to the Miss Cosmo International stage.
Born on July 12, 2003, Tata acknowledged the tremendous support that had helped her succeed. “I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering encouragement I’ve received—from sponsors, mentors, to pageant lovers. Their enthusiasm has been extraordinary. Even when there was no personal gain for them, they supported me wholeheartedly. That’s one of the biggest reasons I’ve made it this far,” she said.
Tata, a native of Intaran, Sanur, also shared some of her most cherished memories from the competition. She felt particularly proud of her performance during the interview round with the judges, despite a minor hiccup during the swimsuit segment. “I also treasure the moments of bonding with fellow contestants, especially toward the end of the competition,” she said with a smile.
One of her proudest achievements was showcasing Balinese culture on the international stage. Tata wore a kebaya paired with Jogja batik fabric, adorned with traditional Balinese subeng jewelry, and other creations by Balinese designers. “During the opening session, I performed Balinese dance movements, and it sparked a lot of curiosity about our culture. It was such a meaningful experience,” she shared.
As Miss Cosmo International, Tata has made sustainable tourism her primary advocacy. She aims to promote Bali’s rich culture and tourism with tangible actions rather than just words. “I want people to follow my journey because I’m determined to make a real difference for our community,” said the 176 cm-tall beauty queen.
Her time in Bali is limited due to her packed schedule. “I’ll need to return to Jakarta on November 30 for various responsibilities. But I hope to come back soon and stay longer,” she said. During her stay in Movenpick Bali, Tata, Puteri Indonesia team and Miss Cosmo team were also enjoying the special welcome dinner in the vibrant Adriana Cocina & Bar, at the rooftop of Movenpick Bali and Samasta Lifestyle Village. A photoshoot wearing traditional Balinese attire was also prepared by the famous photographer, Dewandra Djelantik in Movenpick Bali.
Tata, a fashion design student at the Bali Institute of Design and Business, expressed her admiration for both the Puteri Indonesia Foundation and Miss Cosmo International. “These organizations have a tremendous vision for advancing culture, the environment, and sustainable development. With their support, I’m confident we can create an even greater positive impact,” she said.
One of Tata’s upcoming activities includes charity work in Bali with Smile Train Foundation and Alam Santi Foundation. “This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for what’s next,” she added enthusiastically.
Miss Cosmo International CEO Tran Viet Bao Hoang also shared his perspective on the competition’s unique values. “Miss Cosmo isn’t just about physical beauty. It’s about individuality, progressive thinking, and a commitment to sustainability,” he explained.
Mega Angkasa echoed these sentiments and expressed high hopes for Tata’s future. “Tata is not just a beauty ambassador but also an agent of change. Her contributions to the community will inspire many, and we’re proud to have her represent our country and our values,” he said.
